Recurring bookings
Set the cadence, skip the chase
A regular client booking every 4 weeks at the same Tuesday slot for color touch-ups doesn’t need to text you twelve times a year to rebook. Lock in the cadence once and goldenhour handles the rest: every confirmation, every reminder, every rinse timer, every payment.
What it is
One setup, every-N-weeks repeat
A recurring booking is a series of actual appointments generated on a cadence you set:
- Every 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 / 8 weeks (or a custom interval).
- Same day of week + same start time per occurrence.
- Same service + price + duration each time (you can edit an individual occurrence if you need to).
- End condition: a specific date, after N occurrences, or indefinite (until the client cancels).
What still works per-occurrence
The chain doesn’t break
Per-occurrence reminders
Every occurrence fires its own 24-hour reminder + prep checklist + post-care + rinse timer.
Skip a single occurrence
A bridesmaid trip + a holiday week aren’t a reason to cancel the whole series. Cancel just the one occurrence; the chain continues.
Edit a single occurrence
Bump one Tuesday to a Thursday without touching the rest. Goldenhour treats the moved appointment as a normal one; the recurring series picks up next week.
End the series cleanly
End on a specific date, after N more occurrences, or immediately. Past + completed occurrences stay in the history; future occurrences get cleared.
When to use them
Good fits + anti-patterns
Good fit
- Monthly facial subscription clients.
- Every-3-week lash fill clients.
- Every-6-week color touch-up regulars on a steady cadence.
- Pre-event weekly spray tans (e.g. swimsuit-show season, ongoing fitness-shoot client).
Anti-pattern
- Clients with wildly variable cadence (smart-rebook + nudges handle this better).
- Service mix that changes per appointment (color one visit, balayage the next).
- Clients you’re uncertain about: recurring locks the slot, you forgo other bookings, and you eat the no-show fee policy if it goes wrong.
- Heavy-prep services that need fresh intake each time.
