Three rules before customizing
- Keep it under 160 characters to stay in a single SMS segment. Each extra segment doubles your Twilio cost + can fragment on older phones. Customize for personality, not length.
- Use the variables.Hard-coding “tomorrow at 4pm” will break when the appointment is at 5pm. Always use {time}, etc.
- One emoji max, and only if it fits your brand. A sparkle ✨ or a sunset 🌅 reads warm; three emojis in a row reads as a marketing bot.

Where to set
Goldenhour’s SMS templates live in Settings → SMS templates. Each template has the variable reference inline + a length counter that turns yellow at 140 chars + red at 160 chars (single-segment cutoff).
Restore the default by clearing the field: the system falls back to the stock copy if your custom is empty.
