Switching
From Booksy to goldenhour.
Booksy is a $30–90/mo marketplace + PMS. Its strength is in-app discovery; its weakness is that every customer searching for a tan in your city sees you next to 40 other artists. Switching to goldenhour means your customers land directly on your branded booking page, not a comparison list. Plus mobile-first features Booksy doesn't ship.
Why artists make the switch
What you'll get here.
Subscription drops $10–$70/mo
Booksy runs $30–90/mo depending on plan + add-ons. Founding cohort on goldenhour is $19.99/mo locked-for-life; standard is $39.99/mo. Same flat-fee model, lower number.
Your booking page, not a marketplace listing
Booksy shows your services next to every other artist in town. We render your branded page (book.yourbrand.com) with no competing listings, no upsells to other businesses, no "see related artists" sidebar.
Mobile-first wedges Booksy lacks
Travel zones with per-zone fees, GPS check-in for insurance, masked-number SMS chat (your real phone stays private), in-home setup checklist. Booksy supports mobile artists but with much lighter tooling.
AI features included (opt-in)
Growth analyst, intake-form TL;DR, voice-note transcription, auto-tag suggestions. None of these are Booksy features.
Where they win today
What you'd give up.
Honest list. If any of these are deal-breakers, stay on Booksy: we'd rather you be on the right tool for you than churn from us in 30 days.
Marketplace discovery
Customers find Booksy listings by searching in the Booksy app. If a meaningful slice of your acquisition comes from that channel, you'd lose it on the switch. (Most artists who switch tell us their marketplace traffic was thin anyway: but worth checking your last-90-days source breakdown.)
How to export from Booksy
Pull your data out.
- Sign into Booksy's web dashboard at biz.booksy.com (the iOS app doesn't have the export surface).
- Left nav → Clients. Top of the list, click the "..." (more) menu → "Export to CSV." File downloads instantly.
- Left nav → Calendar → top-right menu → "Export appointments" → pick last 12 months → CSV. Longer history is rarely useful.
- Left nav → Services. Booksy doesn't have a clean CSV export here: screenshot the table or copy/paste into a doc. We can also recreate from your public Booksy listing.
- Settings → Forms → your intake forms. Booksy lets you export each form as a PDF. Send the PDFs.
- Email all files to support@goldenhourhq.com with subject "Booksy migration": we ingest within 1 business day.
Stuck on any step? Email support@goldenhourhq.com. We've done Booksyexports before: happy to screen-share through the part that's blocking you.
What we import
Clean ingest.
- Client list: name, phone, email, birthday, notes, VIP/regular flag
- Appointment history: date, service, status, price, no-shows
- Service catalog (recreated from public listing or screenshot)
- Intake form questions (recreated from PDF)
- Booking notes
- Cancellation + no-show history (powers no-show-risk classifier)
What needs reconfiguring
Five-minute jobs.
Stuff that can't come over via CSV: usually because each platform structures it differently. We walk through each on the setup call (or via email).
- Stripe Connect: Booksy uses their own processor (Booksy Pay). Customers re-enter cards on first booking through goldenhour.
- Booking-page slug: claim a new handle on goldenhourhq.com or point a custom domain CNAME at us. Booksy doesn't support custom domains today, so this is a net upgrade.
- Booksy marketplace listing: Booksy will keep showing your old listing until you delete it. Keep both live for 30 days to migrate existing-customer traffic, then delete.
- Loyalty / promotions: Booksy's promo configs don't export cleanly. We recreate in our promo-codes + loyalty engines post-import.
The money side
What you'll save.
- Subscription: Booksy $30–90/mo → goldenhour $19.99/mo (founding) or $39.99/mo (standard). Net savings: $10–$70/mo.
- No platform commission either way: both are flat-fee.
- Stripe processing: 2.9% + 30¢ online on goldenhour (Stripe passthrough). Booksy Pay has similar rates but they vary by plan; check your last 3 invoices for the apples-to-apples comparison.
