Massage pricing: 2026
What to charge for massage
Solo independent LMT pricing for May 2026. Eight service tiers + modality premiums + mobile-surcharge guidance. Adjust against your local market + experience tier.
By service tier
30 min targeted
Single problem area (neck/shoulders, lower back). Best for between-session maintenance or chair-based corporate work.
60 min Swedish / deep tissue
The most-common session length. Most solo LMTs charge the same regardless of modality at this tier.
90 min Swedish / deep tissue
Premium positioning. Better margin per chair hour than 60-min once you account for setup/teardown.
120 min full-body
Less common but useful for first-visit consultations + bridal-prep half-day packages.
Prenatal massage
60-min standard. Requires specific certification + appropriate cushioning. Charges $15-30 premium over Swedish.
Lymphatic drainage
60-min standard. Specialized cert (Vodder / Casley-Smith). 2026 demand growing rapidly post-procedure (post-lipo, post-BBL).
Sports / recovery / cupping
60-min standard. Often booked weekly by athletic clients. Cupping add-on $20-40 surcharge.
Couples massage (2 therapists)
Per couple, not per person. Requires a second LMT in the same room: split the take or hire a contractor.
Mobile massage
Mobile massage charges the standard session rate plus a $20-50 travel surcharge depending on distance. Many solo LMTs are mobile-only: your service area + zone-based fees configure in goldenhour Settings.
- Massage table + sheets + table-warmer in your kit
- Min 7x8 ft floor space + quiet room requirement in /help/in-home-setup-checklist
- Premium $50-80 surcharge for hotel-delivery (often pre-wedding / bachelorette)
Memberships work well for massage
Massage is the highest-fit beauty/wellness vertical for monthly-membership economics. Pain-management + recovery clients book on a stable 4-week cadence + value the "lock my time in" pattern.
Common pattern: $99/mo gets 1 60-min session included + member rate on additional. See /help/membership-program-design for the operational design.
