Terms used across goldenhour
Alphabetical reference for terms that appear across the docs + dashboard. If you hit a word you don’t recognize, it should be here.
- 10DLC
- Application-to-Person SMS registration system mandated by US carriers. Sender numbers must be 10DLC-registered or carriers throttle/block. Goldenhour handles registration automatically. → SMS marketing compliance
- Aftercare
- Post-appointment care instructions. Vertical-specific (spray tan, lash, microblading all have different aftercare playbooks). → Spray tan aftercare
- App Intent
- iOS 26 framework for exposing actions to Siri / Spotlight / Shortcuts / Apple Intelligence. Goldenhour iOS app ships 8 App Intents. → iOS App Intents
- Audit log
- Append-only record of every state-changing operation on your account. Forensic-grade; defends chargebacks and disputes. → Audit log
- BNPL
- Buy Now, Pay Later. Klarna / Afterpay / Affirm via Stripe. Stripe absorbs credit risk; you get paid same-day. → BNPL
- Booking link
- Stable redirect URL at /api/booking-link/<tenant>. Survives custom-domain swaps + slug renames; pass UTM params for attribution. → API quick-start
- Booking slug
- The short identifier in your booking-page URL (e.g. 'sobetan' in book.sobetan.com or sobetan.goldenhourhq.com). Set in Settings.
- Buffer time
- Minutes reserved before/after a service for setup, cleanup, or processing. Stops the calendar from scheduling back-to-back-tight.
- Cancellation policy hours
- Hours-before-appointment after which a cancellation forfeits the deposit. 24h is the common default; 48-72h for premium services. → Cancellation policy templates
- Custom domain
- Artist-owned hostname (book.yourbrand.com) that routes through goldenhour. DNS-based; ~10 min one-time setup. → Custom domain setup
- DHA
- Dihydroxyacetone: the active ingredient in every spray tan. Goldenhour tracks per-client cumulative exposure with normal/caution/high bands. → DHA exposure tracking
- Drive buffer
- Account-wide minutes reserved before AND after every mobile appointment for travel time. Studio-mode bookings get zero buffer.
- Founding member
- One of the first 100 goldenhour subscribers: locks in original price for the lifetime of the account. → Founding customer program
- Intake form
- Per-service questionnaire customers fill out at booking. Goldenhour supports conditional branches + returning-client delta mode. → Intake form best practices
- JSON-LD
- Schema.org structured data injected into every public booking page. Read by Google AI Overviews + ChatGPT Atlas + Perplexity Comet.
- llms.txt
- Curated AI-agent site map per llmstxt.org. Goldenhour serves /llms.txt as the front door for agentic browsers.
- Manage token
- High-entropy UUID embedded in confirmation messages so customers can cancel/reschedule/open aftercare without logging in.
- Masked-number chat
- Twilio Proxy-backed SMS that hides both sides' phone numbers. Trust-safety wedge for mobile artists. → Masked-number chat
- MCP
- Model Context Protocol. Goldenhour's public MCP at /api/mcp/manifest lets AI agents discover artists + check availability without scraping. → AI agents & MCP
- No-show fee
- Auto-charge against the card-on-file when a customer doesn't show. Disclosed at booking; defensible via the audit log. → No-show fees
- Processing time
- Minutes during a service when the artist isn't actively working but the chair is occupied (e.g. color processing, tan developing). Set per-service.
- Quiet hours
- Per-account local-time window during which automated marketing SMS skips. Configurable in Settings → Retention.
- Recurring booking
- Series of appointments on a fixed cadence (every 2/3/4/6/8 weeks) for regular clients. Cancel a single occurrence without breaking the chain. → Recurring bookings
- Rebook cadence
- Goldenhour's per-client cadence inference. After 3+ visits, the smart-rebook cron fires nudges at the customer's actual cadence (median of last 10 visits).
- Reserve with Google
- Direct 'Book' button in Google search results. Goldenhour is in the partner application queue; the GBP appointment-link gets ~90% of the same result. → Reserve with Google
- Service package
- Prepaid bundle of N sessions at a slight discount, valid for 6-12 months. No recurring billing; cash-flow benefit + retention. → Service packages
- STOP keyword
- SMS opt-out keyword (STOP / STOPALL / UNSUBSCRIBE / CANCEL / END / QUIT / NO). Carriers + goldenhour both honor immediately.
- Tap to Pay
- Apple feature that turns an iPhone into a card reader. 2.7% + $0.05 per transaction. No external hardware. → Tap to Pay on iPhone
- TCPA
- Telephone Consumer Protection Act. US law requiring explicit consent before marketing SMS. $500-$1,500 penalty per unconsented message. → SMS marketing compliance
- Travel zone
- Named geographic region with its own travel fee (e.g. 'Brickell' / 5 miles / $25). Goldenhour clusters bookings by zone for routing. → Travel zones
- Vertical
- Beauty service category (spray_tan, hair, lash_brow, etc.). Drives default settings (rebook cadence, post-care tips, prep checklist, intake questions).
